(NEWPHER) WOLF, ELIZABETH ANNE was the wife of Lazarus Wolf. She was probably born in the Terre Hill, PA area. She probably was the daughter of James and Mary (???) Newpher. I have not found a marriage record yet. According to her gravestone in Terre Hill Cemetery, Terre Hill, PA she was born 3 May 1847 and died 11 Nov. 1898. According to family members there were 17 children who survived to adulthood - I cannot confirm or deny this currently. See the entry for Lazarus Wolf to see the family group listed in the census for 1870 and 1880.
The below photo of her gravestone is from www.findagrave.com
This genealogy blog came about because I inherited so many photos and documents from both my grandma and mother. Rather than keeping them to myself, I would like to share with others who may be looking for these same people. Names of Lancaster County, PA families that may be found here include: Applebach, Findley, Garner, Groff, Mosser/Musser, Musselman, Newpher, Ressler, Stover, Wolfe, Yost

WOLF, LAZARUS (1841-1930)
WOLF, LAZARUS was born in Lancaster County, PA (depending on the source you use) between 1840 and 1844. Per a questionnaire that Dorothy Wolf answered in March 1986 for me, he was born Sept 1, 1841 and this is the date on his gravestone (per www.Findagrave.com) in Terre Hill at Terre
Hill Cemetery.
He was the son of Michael and Lydia (Ulrich) Wolf. He married Elizabeth Anne Newpher (probably born May 3, 1847). At this point, I do not know who her parents were or when Lazarus and Elizabeth married.
Per the 1850 Census, he was residing with his parents/siblings at Brecknock, Lancaster Co., Penn.
Per the 1870 Census, Lazarus was living in Pennsylvania (Lanc. Co) with his wife/children. In the household were listed:
Per the 1880 Census, he was living in Earl Township, Lancaster Co., Penn.
Lazarus is listed in the Lancaster City and County Directory of 1884 as working in a saloon in Terre Hill.
I have been told by various family members that there were 17 children who survived to adulthood, but at this point I cannot verify this.
