DIVORCE PAPERS OF JACOB & IDA (WOLF) HAHN 1888-89

The papers discussing the divorce of Jacob C. and Mary Ida (Wolf) HAHN are located in the Lancaster County Archives.  Many thanks to the staff there for locating and copying these for me.

Ida HAHN v. Jacob C. HAHN, case term December 1888-9, and the decree date is August 17, 1889

The papers do mention a child (Irvin) and do state that Jacob left Lancaster County due to his inability to pay debts.  According to the written statements, he did not pay support to either Ida or Irvin, and Ida requested a divorce on grounds of dissertation.

Notice that Ida's uncle - A. O. NEWPHER - is her lawyer

LAZARUS WOLF DEATH CERTIFICATE

Using Ancestry through my local library has opened all kinds of possibilities for getting so much more family information.

I recently found the death certificate for Lazarus WOLF on Ancestry.

If the info on the certificate is correct, his mother's maiden name was ULRICH - which I did not know before.

August 8, 2017: I found this above photo on Ancestry and it is believed to be Elizabeth (Newpher) and Lazarus Wolf - I am guessing circa 1880's.  The man certainly looks like the other photos of Lazarus. 

I was given a copy of this photo several years ago and told it was Lazarus and a sister circa 1920. Imagine my surprise to see in Ancestry as Lazarus and Elizabeth Newpher - there is no way due to the clothing styles - Elizabeth died in 1898.  Lazarus had several sisters, but I have no idea which one this would be.  I am going to go with what I was told - that this is Lazarus and a sister.  Does anyone out there know more about this photo or which sister?????

(NEWPHER) WOLF, ELIZABETH ANNE (1847-1898)

(NEWPHER) WOLF, ELIZABETH ANNE was the wife of Lazarus Wolf.  She was probably born in the Terre Hill, PA area.  She probably was the daughter of James and Mary (???) Newpher. I have not found a marriage record yet. According to her gravestone in Terre Hill Cemetery, Terre Hill, PA she was born 3 May 1847 and died 11 Nov. 1898. According to family members there were 17 children who survived to adulthood - I cannot confirm or deny this currently.
