Lancaster County Family Ties

JOSEPH  & SUSANNA (MYERS) GROFF: This photo is believed to be Joseph Groff  (1813-1878) and Susanna Myers Groff (1815-1875). They are buried in New Providence Mennonite Cemetery, New Providence, PA.  Joseph was the son of John and Catherine (Eshleman) Groff.  He married Fannie Myers (I have been told that she was Susanna's sister) after Susanna died.  Joseph and Susanna had 7 known children: Barbara (1838-1872), John M. (1839-1929), Catherine (1842-1918), Levi W. (1844-1920), Elizabeth (1847-1918), Fannie (1855-1933), Joseph (1856-1926), who I am descended from.

Lloyd Eugene Miller Lloyd Eugene Miller, 85, of Lancaster, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, July 20, 2013, and went home to be with his Lord. Born in Lancaster on October 19, 1927, he was the son of the late Harry Herr Miller and Mary Elizabeth Ressler. He was the loving husband of Frances D. (Grabowski) Miller, whom he married in 2009, and was preceded in death by Evelyn Johnston Miller, to whom he was married for 48 years. Lloyd was also preceded in death by two brothers, Calvin Miller and Paul Miller. Lloyd attended Penn Manor High School and ­continued his education at Sampson Air Force Base as a Medic. Lloyd owned and operated Miller Optical in Lancaster from its founding in 1951 until his retirement in 1992. He traveled extensively and enjoyed his summers at the Jersey shore
