Metzger, Madeline M.  The Ressler Family: descendants of Johann Heinrich Rossler, born in Germany ca. 1730  published 1994. This book is available thru the LDS Family History Library, or I physically was able to use the book for research at the Lancaster Menn. History Society in 2017.

    I am sorry to be so slow to respond. Life has been a bit crazy.

    Anyway, as far as the Ressler book by Madeline Metzger: it is out of print. I have seen it once for sale on Ebay for several hundred dollars. The only actual copy I have seen was at the Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society. If you cannot make it to the LMHS, I would recommend contacting the LDS library in Salt Lake City, Utah. There is info on contacting them on FamilySearch.com.

    As for Johan Ressler, I post on here as I have time with documents and photos. There is tons of info on this blog about my own line which is thru Daniel Ressler. I am sorry but I know next to nothing at this point about the other lines.

    Right now, due to job constraints I am struggling to get on here even to check the comments. Please just keep checking back - I will get back to it.

In the January 1993 issue of Mennonite Family History Magazine was the below article on the family of Jacob & Susanna Ressler focusing on the line of Samuel Ressler (1804-1876). To be truthful, I am not very familiar with this line as I am descended through the next older boy, Daniel (1802-1901).  However, there are a couple things in the article I would like to correct or add to, so please continue to read below the nice article. 1. The first couple paragraphs is about Johann Heinrich Rossler/Ressler and his immigration.   “He was accompanied on the ship by two other Roesslers: Johann Georg Roessler and Conrad Roessler.”  Per the response to a Nov. 1963 letter of Nina Briedenthall (translated by E. AFFLERBACH HOUSE IN GERMANY

This is the Afflerbach (Applebach) family home in Womelsdorf, Germany.  The farm has been passed down thru the generations to various family members and is still in the family.  When this photo was taken in May 1978, the resident was Karl Afflerbach.  While I lived in Germany, I visited with he and his wife and ate meals with them.  They proudly showed me the dark, low ceiling rooms that had been the original house back in the 1500's.  In Germany, houses used to be named and this one is the "Kraemershaus".
