Per Lancaster City/County Directories and/or other documents, the below are addresses are where Taylor and Jennie (STOVER) APPLEBACH lived as a married couple until 1962. After that, the addresses are where Taylor lived alone after Jennie's death.

1. Taylor APPLEBACH married Maggie DOSTMAN in Lancaster 18 March 1905 – both underage and fathers had to sign consent. Divorced on grounds of desertion in 1908

2. Taylor APPLEBACH married Mamie GROFF in Lancaster 31 March 1909 – Mamie’s mother signed consent. They divorced in 1920 due to Taylor's "cruel treatment".

3. Taylor APPLEBACH married Jennie C. STOVER in Harrisburg, PA 14 August 1920 – on license states he has never been married. Jennie died in 1962, he did not remarry.

08/12/2017: 

I was in Lancaster last week and was able to spend a lot of time walking around looking at the areas listed above.  In 1935, the APPLEBACH family lived at 211 E. Chestnut and here is what it looks like now: 

Taylor's address when he died was 138 E. Chestnut, and this is what it looks like now.  I spoke to the elderly man on the porch and he said he had lived there a "long time" and it had always been apartments:

These 2 addresses are in the immediate area of Musser Park. I am standing at the corner of Lime and Chestnut.  My father and his family had no doubt walked on the same sidewalks I was walking on. Maybe the APPLEBACH kids even played in Musser Park:

ABRAHAM & TAYLOR APPLEBACH ADDRESSES IN DOCUMENTS (Part 1)

Abraham APPLEBACH was born in 1850 or 1851 depending on the document being used. He was not born in Lancaster County. Here is his memorial on Find a Grave. He died in Oct. 1912 and is buried in Lancaster, PA.

Using documents, censuses, and Lancaster city directories I was able to put together this list of known places he lived in his life. Obviously, these same addresses applied to his wife Elizabeth (LITTLE) APPLEBACH and any minor or adult children who lived with them.

Twins Scott and Taylor APPLEBACH were born in 1886. They would have lived at the same addresses as their parents until they set up their own homes at some point in their adult lives. In the case of Taylor, he was in and out of his parents home even as an adult both with and without a wife.

Elizabeth (LITTLE) APPLEBACH died in 1931 and by  then all the kids had their own homes.

JAMES APPLEBACH IN YEARBOOK PHOTOS

1951 - James' senior photo. Have an 8 x 10 in my photo collection.

The above quote is beside his senior photo, so he would have or did graduate 4 years ahead of mom.

I did not know until I found these photos on Ancestry that my father had gone to Penn Manor in Lancaster, PA - just like my mom.  According to his siblings, he did not actually graduate, but quit at some point in his senior year.  I cannot say this is a fact, however, after years of going thru piles of paper records, I have never found a high school diploma for him.

1-28-2025 Update:

I did contact Penn Manor and the wonderful secretary was able to find James' high school record in some box in the basement of the school. I need to scan it in and add it to this post. He did not graduate and from the notes in it, was in trouble or causing trouble during school. His grades were poor. 

I do remember my mom saying that he was very afraid that he would be found out as a liar about graduating later when he went onto college and the churches he pastored in. 

I am going back through papers because I feel that mom mentioned to me that he did "graduate" by taking a test in the early years of their marriage.

1949 - Aunt June is in the top photo, and my father is in the bottom - they were twins.

MY MYERS LINE

I have not done very much research yet on my Myers line - in Lancaster County, PA this is a daunting task as there are so many of them, and they are not all related. A distant cousin has spent years researching the "Myers" family lines and I am adding her notes here on my ancestors because I know she is a very responsible researcher who uses legitimate sources. Josephine (Myers) Groff was the mother of Cora Groff and the grandmother of Ralph Groff Garner.

RESSLER REUNION PHOTOS - early 1960's

These were taken the same day in the early 1960's at a RESSLER Reunion. Other than it being in Lancaster County, PA somewhere, I do not know the location.
