          Lester C. Garner
Lester C. Garner, 97, of Florentine Drive, Willow Street, PA died Wednesday, December 12, 2012, surrounded by his family at Hospice & Community Care, Lancaster, PA. He was the husband of the late D. Romaine Troop Garner who died May 31, 2007. Lester was born in Quarryville, a son of the late Benjamin F. and Cora Groff Garner. He was a member of Willow Street United Church of Christ and West Willow Senior Citizens. Lester was employed as a miller with both Lancaster Milling Company and then Pennfield Feed from which he retired.
Surviving him are two daughters, Doris wife of Charles Lownsbery of Lancaster, Donna wife of Robert Kreider of Lancaster; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde J. Garner and Ralph G. Garner and two sisters, Mary E. Garner and Ella M. Roop.
A memorial service will be held at Willow Street United Church of Christ, 2723 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at 2:00PM with Rev. Ron Bohannon officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00PM until the time of service at the church. A private traditional interment will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Garner's memory to Hospice & Community Care, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

In the January 1993 issue of Mennonite Family History Magazine was the below article on the family of Jacob & Susanna Ressler focusing on the line of Samuel Ressler (1804-1876). AFFLERBACH HOUSE IN GERMANY

This is the Afflerbach (Applebach) family home in Womelsdorf, Germany.  The farm has been passed down thru the generations to various family members and is still in the family.  When this photo was taken in May 1978, the resident was Karl Afflerbach.  While I lived in Germany, I visited with he and his wife and ate meals with them.  They proudly showed me the dark, low ceiling rooms that had been the original house back in the 1500's.  In Germany, houses used to be named and this one is the "Kraemershaus".
